Pragya Gupta's profile

The Itinerant Illustration Conference

In December 2014,  Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology hosted The Itinerant Illustrator conference and exhibition as part of the larger group of activities around graduation. The exhibition showcased a range of illustration methods and media their boundaries – the first of its kind in India. Being a part of the Srishti Crew, I volunteered for the conference and exhibition. My job was to design the banners for the event with another colleague.

One of the restrictions was to design the banners solely from the illustrations of Anna Bhushan (member of the Illustration Research and speaker for the Symposium).

DESIGN PROCESS

Here are a few of my initial designs –
Pushing beyond the existing realm of creativity.
A representation of how "Big" (The established speaker and illustrators of the conference) provide inspiration and guidance to the "small" (students).
A community of diverse creative intellectuals and geniuses.
Many indivuals with a common goal to promote creativity and design.
The kind of diversity and innovation that unites us all.

The last visual was chosen to be the final design for four out of six banners and one signage. Here are a few of my other experiments with the same visual for the two 9 by 6 feet banners that were to be placed on either sides of the projection screen in the conference room.
